RJC Designs Inc. is a technology consulting firm who has utilized their combined experiences in the media, broadcast, telecommunications field, and computer technology areas towards the direction of technology in education. As consultants we feel that one of the most important aspect of our job is to understand the needs of the facility not only on a technical level but also on a teaching, educational and community level.

Unlike a design build firm RJC Designs is an engineering and consulting firm only. We do not provide or sell equipment. RJC Designs fees for services are based on engineering, design, and management cost only. By not being a vendor of products RJC Designs can maintain an unbiased view and assure that the design implemented is the most beneficial for the clients needs.

RJC Designs has as part of our resource team, educators proficient in distance learning to assist us in understanding the academia point of view. The combination of technology expertise and the educators input helps to assure a successful merge of technology and educational instruction.

Distance Learning can take many variations: Point to Point, Multipoint Receive, Combinations of Point to Point and Multipoint using a Hub configuration, Microwave, Satellite, etc. RJC Designs Inc. has the experience to design the various configurations of the Distance Learning Classroom and the expertise to coordinate any existing facility technology for a completely integrated system.

Lighting, room acoustics, seating, microphone placement, ergonomics, device control system, etc. all must be a consideration in a DLC design. One of the most important factors is the audio system for remote site or receive playback. Echo and source feedback are the two most common design criteria that are overlooked. If you can't hear or understand the remote site then the clearest video image really doesn't matter.

Remember to develop a plan or a definition and scope to follow. The technology is so vast and dynamic you will need this blue print to follow in order to achieve your goals successfully.
