Phase One of this project required the design of a multi-channel business television distribution system to serve their employees at eleven corporate sites in Indiana. The sites vary from the four square blocks of Lilly Corporate Center to the multi-acre research facilities and pharmaceutical chemical manufacturing plants.
The system is designed to deliver multiple channels of video bulletin board information to employees as well as full distribution of local and satellite delivered programs and video conferences. An AMX synergy system was utilized for program distribution and even scheduling. The infrastructure design incorporated the existing single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic backbone. A newly developed broadband fiber based distribution system was designed with node receivers in each building. Building distribution was made possible by a combination of coax cable, video on twisted pair and RF. over 40,000 feet of coax cable was specified for the project. For buildings not serviced by fiber optics, microwave connectivity was used.
